Arsenal Match Preview

Exactly a fortnight after their home draw with Brighton and Hove Albion, it’s time for a second midweek Premier League fixture programme of the season and after taking a point in a goalless draw with Burnley on Sunday, West Ham United are on the road again tonight, as they travel to The Emirates Stadium to take on the challenge of Arsenal.

The Hammers have won two of the three previous London derbies this season and another success here would put them further ahead of Mikel Arteta’s Gunners in the table.

The home side have had one extra day to prepare for this game, following a 3-0 home victory against Southampton on Saturday so they will be the fresher of the two sides.

Having only drawn against Sean Dyche’s Clarets three days ago, the Irons are still looking for a first away victory since 31 October.

Just over a month after managing his 1000th game, David Moyes will chalk up another milestone tonight, as he will oversee his 600th match as a top-flight boss and he will hope to grab his first victory against the North London club in his two spells in charge of the East Londoners. He will also try and help the club to earn a first success against the Gunners since the 2015/16 campaign.

Aaron Cresswell may get a start and replace Issa Diop in defence after missing the last three games with a back injury, while Vladimír Coufal may retain his place. Pablo Fornals may be welcomed back into the starting line-up after being dropped to the bench for the last two league outings.

The match kicks off at 8pm and live coverage will be screened by BT Sport from 7pm. The referee is Anthony Taylor.
