Fourth Loan Spell For Terry

After a deal was finalised on Friday for young defender Rayan Oyebade to join Southend United on a season-long loan, another youngster has left West Ham United today, as goalkeeper Mason Terry has joined Sky Bet League Two side Port Vale.

Terry’s former teammate Krisztián Hegyi was allowed to finally leave the club and join Czech outfit Sparta Prague on a permanent basis back on 19 June, meaning that the Londoners now only have Finlay Herrick and Finlay Hooper to choose from for the entirety of the next campaign.

Terry has benefited from valuable experience in three previous loan spells in the Isthmian League, Enterprise National League South and the Enterprise National League. Now, his coaches in Stratford believe that he is ready to take the next step further up the ladder and get the opportunity to play first-team football at Vale Park.

Terry enjoyed his time playing in non-league and was awarded the Supporters’ Player of the Season award at all three of his clubs and if that wasn’t enough to emphasise how impressive he was, he picked up the Man of the Match award on an incredible sixteen occasions at Braintree Town last term. He kept twelve clean sheets, while also registering one goal against Truro City in the National League Cup and an assist in a league encounter against Morecambe.

The 21-year-old stopper could have a promotion to his name come the summer of 2027 as, similar to his parent club, Jon Brady’s side are looking for an immediate return to the second tier.
