Landers Heads Out For Short-term Loan
Boreham Wood manager Luke Garrard must have been impressed by the performance of West Ham United youngster Josh Landers during their National League Cup Final victory, as it was confirmed on Thursday that he has agreed a deal with the East London club that has seen the 19-year-old Scotsman join the Enterprise National League club for the rest of the current season.
Despite the summer transfer window not opening again for over a month, Landers is the second young player to have left East London this week after Ryan Battrum was also sent out on a short-term loan deal to fellow Enterprise National League outfit Braintree Town.
The former Hibernian player will link up in Hertfordshire with Hammers’ teammate Junior Robinson who signed for the club in early January.
Landers has perhaps not been quite as prolific for the Irons as he was being talked up to be, having only scored nine times in thirty appearances, but Garrard is hoping he can do more of what he saw him do at Meadow Park just nine days ago and hopefully fire his side to promotion to the Sky Bet Football League for the first time in their history. They currently occupy fourth place in the table and are guaranteed a place in the end of season play-offs.
