West Ham Land Wilson

Other than the signing of young striker Daniel Cummings back on 1 July, West Ham United Head-Coach Graham Potter has brought in defenders as his first two senior signings.

However, it was confirmed late on Saturday that the former Swansea City and Chelsea boss now has his fifth signing since he was appointed, as striker Callum Wilson arrives having signed a one-year deal.

During the Sky Sports coverage of the Premier League Summer Series match against Everton on Wednesday night, it was confirmed that the club was unable to agree a short-term contract extension with Michail Antonio so it appears that the capture of the 33-year-old is rather timely.

Whilst Potter and the first-team have been in the United States taking part in the preseason tournament, senior figures from the East London club have been in talks with Wilson’s representatives since 23 July and now it’s now been made public that the Hammers have got their man.

Wilson’s career has been beset by injury but he is looking forward to starting his new challenge in Stratford. When he has featured for previous top-flight clubs AFC Bournemouth and Newcastle United, he has always had a knack of scoring against the Irons so the club will be pleased that he is on their side for the 2025/26 campaign.

There is bound to be more activity taking place in the East End before the closure of the summer transfer window on September 1. As always, when anything is confirmed, this site will provide the details.
