Hammers Complete Hat-trick Of New Signings

Since being officially appointed as West Ham United’s new Head-Coach on May 23, Julen Lopetegui has brought in six new players, as he looks to rebuild the squad ahead of the 2024/25 Premier League season. The Hammers have today made it two new recruits in as many days with the arrival of defensive midfielder Guido Rodríguez.

The deal for the Argentine was only made public on Saturday, shortly after the East Londoners confirmed the signing of Crysencio Summerville. Apparently the Irons hierarchy had already agreed the deal to sign the player on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract at previous club Real Betis, where he played under the stewardship of former Hammers’ boss Manuel Pellegrini.

He will be familiar with one of his new teammates at least, as he has played alongside midfielder Edson Álvarez when the pair were together at Club América.

Rodríguez may get the chance to play with his new teammates and in front of the home faithful for the first time when they take on La Liga outfit RC Celta Vigo in the club’s final pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon.

There is still time for players to move in and out of East London, as the transfer window does not close for another twenty four days. If and when more deals are confirmed, this site will be first with any news.
