Kilman Reunited With Lopetegui At West Ham

It was always going to be a busy summer at West Ham United and today, they have completed their third transfer deal already with the capture of Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the hefty sum of £40m and the defender has signed a seven-year contract.

Wolves weren’t actively looking to sell the man that Julen Lopetegui made Captain during his short spell at Molineux but the new Hammers’ Head-Coach obviously saw Kilman as a player that he would like to be reunited with when he took the job in Stratford.

West Ham made initial enquiries about this potential transfer back on June 18 and the offer was rejected a few days later. There was then no further news that a new bid had been submitted to Wolves until last Thursday, when details emerged that the defender was undergoing a medical in East London after the sizeable fee had been agreed.

Kilman becomes the third player to come through the entrance door this summer and follows Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham in making the move.

Kilman and Lopetegui will face their former club before the Premier League season gets underway, as the two clubs meet for a pre-season friendly as part of the Sunshine State Tour in Florida on Sunday 28 July. They will then meet again in Stratford for a meeting which is currently scheduled for Saturday 7 December, before the duo then head back to the Black Country on Tuesday 1 April.

There is bound to be more business done by the club before the transfer window closes at the end of August and as always, this site will be first with the news.
