Arsenal Match Preview

Either side of October’s international break, West Ham United have fixtures just days apart from each other and after Monday’s 1-1 draw against Everton at The Hill Dickinson Stadium, they are back on the road and face a trip to The Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal.

In the last two seasons, Mikel Arteta’s men have been challenging for the Premier League title but in this fixture, the Hammers have put a dent in their hopes on both occasions.

The Gunners are in a similar position again this time around so will Nuno Espírito Santo follow the recent successes of both David Moyes and Graham Potter and be able to make it three wins in a row here? If he does manage to achieve the feat, then the visitors will have emulated current champions Liverpool and become only the second team to be victorious in North London this season.

After a hectic few days at the end of last week, the Portuguese has had more time on the training ground with his new side as they go in search of more points to lift themselves up the table.

If you think four days isn’t long to prepare for a game then spare a thought for today’s hosts, who have only had two due to their involvement in the UEFA Champions League against Greek outfit Olympiacos in midweek, so the travelling support may well enjoy their trip here once again.

The new Head-Coach may restore both James Ward-Prowse and Callum Wilson to the starting line-up or keep faith with the team he named against the Toffees five days ago.

Jean-Clair Todibo hasn’t featured since the Carabao Cup defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers back on 26 August but he is back in contention for a place in the starting line-up, while it remains to be seen whether Aaron Wan-Bissaka is fit enough to take part.

The match is a 3pm kick-off and the referee is John Brooks.
