Another Hammer Joins Northampton
Just three days after West Ham United’s Development Squad played out a goalless draw with Sky Bet League One outfit Northampton Town, 21-year-old defender Michael Forbes has made the move to Sixfields on a season-long loan.
The player must have made a favourable impression on Cobblers’ boss Kevin Nolan, as he has moved quickly to sign the Northern Irishman who has had previous spells in the EFL in Sky Bet League Two at Colchester United and for part of last season in Sky Bet League One at Bristol Rovers. However, he unfortunately sustained an injury while in the West Country and therefore had to return to Rush Green.
It’s not just Nolan that Forbes will link up with during his latest temporary move, as Kamarai Swyer signed for the former West Ham Coach and captain shortly after the end of the last Premier League campaign.
The Irons had already allowed fellow youngster Gideon Kodua to join Luton Town on an initial season-long loan this week and the hierarchy in East London have now decided to let Forbes follow suit and gain further first-team football in the forthcoming season.
There are likely to be further moves both in and out of Stratford with over a month still to go in the summer window. As soon as any deals are finalised, this site will have all the details.
