Hegyi Makes Early January Exit

The turn of the year brings with it the opening of another transfer window and although it has been widely suggested that West Ham United Head-Coach Nuno Espírito Santo needs new faces in the squad, there has been movement out of the club today with the Portuguese allowing Development Squad goalkeeper Krisztián Hegyi to head home to Hungary and join MTK Budapest FC on loan for the rest of the season.

The 23-year-old has had previous spells away from East London in England, Scotland and Holland but was called back to Stratford in October, as the Hammers hierarchy sanctioned a deal for goalkeeper Finlay Herrick to join Enterprise National League club Boreham Wood also on a season-long loan.

However, he too had his first ever loan cut short and returned to the club’s Development Squad last month after he was recalled by current Head-Coach Greg Lincoln.

This is only the start of what is sure to be a busy month for the Irons. As always, when moves are finalised, this site will keep its readers up to date.
