Steidten Moves Out Of West Ham
It’s not just players that have been moving in and out of West Ham United recently. Following the dismissal of former Head-Coach Julen Lopetegui back on January 8, speculation was rife that Technical Director Tim Steidten would be the next through the exit door in Stratford.
After the appointment of Graham Potter, it was clear that personnel would change and Sky Sports News were reporting on 24 January that the German’s departure was imminent and that the hierarchy were working on the terms of his exit. Potter wanted a new person to work with him that would fulfill most of Steidten’s main duties. The club moved quickly to appoint an ally of Potter and Kyle Macaulay was swiftly given the new role.
It is fair to say that the recruitment of players in the summer transfer window wasn’t very well thought through and with the possible exceptions of Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, none of them have really made a significant impact.
The feeling is that Potter wants to assess what he has inherited, having only brought in Evan Ferguson on loan from the Seagulls and then stamp his authority on the squad when the window reopens in the summer.
