Nottingham Forest Match Preview

West Ham United head out of London for a Premier League away game for the first time this season when they travel to The City Ground and face Nottingham Forest this afternoon.

David Moyes never managed a win here in two matches so Julen Lopetegui will be looking to achieve success, whilst also trying to do all he can to help his team build on their 2-1 home victory over Manchester United six days ago.

The Hammers are chasing only their eighth win of 2024 and will be hoping to end the current two-match unbeaten run for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side.

The Tricky Trees have had a busy schedule recently with three games in twelve days so the East Londoners will be wanting to take advantage.

After back-to-back home wins, Lopetegui will hope to engineer a first away triumph since August 24, when the Irons took maximum points from Selhurst Park.

Jean-Clair Todibo picked up a knock and started last weekend’s encounter against Erik ten Hag’s men on the bench but Lopetegui stated that the Frenchman should be fit enough to start again here, while Tomáš Souček will be hoping to retain his place.

The Head-Coach revealed in his pre-match news conference ahead of this game on Thursday that striker Niclas Füllkrug is “working on his recovery”, while Crysencio Summerville is hoping for his second start for the club since his move from Leeds United, after he not only inspired a second-half comeback but will also be full of confidence after scoring his first goal in Claret and Blue against the Red Devils.

Lopetegui must decide between Łukasz Fabiański or Alphonse Areola in goal.

James Ward-Prowse is unable to feature for the home side, due to the terms of his season-long loan agreement.

The match is a 3pm kick-off and the referee is Peter Bankes.
