Tottenham Hotspur Match Preview
West Ham United kick the Premier League weekend off with the game that their fans have all been waiting for, as they visit Tottenham Hotspur for Saturday’s early encounter.
It will not be lost amongst the travelling support that David Moyes engineered a 2-1 victory here last season and now, Julen Lopetegui will be looking to do the same.
The Hammers picked up their first home win of the season before the international break with a 4-1 victory over newly-promoted Ipswich Town and they know they face a tough test if they are to keep their unbeaten league run going here.
Having said that, Ange Postecoglou will want to see a reaction from his players after they let a two-goal advantage slip against Brighton and Hove Albion to lose 3-2 back on October 6.
The last time the visitors claimed back-to-back wins was in March after they came from a goal behind to beat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park.
Not only do West Ham go into this game off the back of the victory over the Tractor Boys but they will be the fresher of the two sides, given that they have had one extra day’s preparation.
On the other hand, the visitors will hope that their opponents have one eye on Thursday’s UEFA Europa League match against Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
The Spaniard named an unchanged team for the first home triumph of the season however, he may make changes here with Edson Álvarez and Carlos Soler both in contention.
The match is a 12:30pm kick-off and live coverage is being screened by TNT Sports from 11am. The referee is Andrew Madley.
