Hammers Splash Out On Füllkrug
After a fairly quiet month in July, West Ham United’s transfer activity has gathered pace at the start of August.
Barely two days after confirming the capture of Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville, they have now clinched the signing of 31-year-old striker Niclas Füllkrug. He has signed for a fee believed to be £27.5m and his contract runs until the summer of 2028.
The player had been linked with a move to Stratford last summer but David Moyes missed out on him with the German opting to sign for Borussia Dortmund from SV Werder Bremen instead. The East London club didn’t give up their pursuit of the German international and he will play under the stewardship of Julen Lopetegui.
West Ham’s spending shows no sign of abating and there is set to be more movement both in and out of of the club until the window closes at the end of the month. As soon as any more deals are finalised, this site will have all the latest news.
