West Ham Sanction Laing Loan Deal
After Michael Forbes left West Ham United to join Sky Bet League One outfit Bristol Rovers earlier this month, it has been confirmed today that the club have allowed youngster Levi Laing to team up with Sky Bet League Two side Cheltenham Town on a season-long loan.
New Hammers’ Head-Coach Julen Lopetegui is keen to allow a number of the club’s Development Squad to leave Stratford and gain valuable first-team experience.
Laing is the third player to have made a temporary exit this summer, following fellow defender Forbes and goalkeeper KrisztiƔn Hegyi, who made moves to both Bristol Rovers and Scottish club Motherwell respectively.
The 21-year-old has made a solitary first-team appearance for West Ham which came back in March 2023 in the second-leg of their Round of 16 tie against AEK Larnaca, as David Moyes’ men were en route to winning the UEFA Europa Conference League.
Laing will be hoping to make his debut for Darryl Clarke’s men on August 10 when they host Newport County.
After a relatively quiet month, it is all expected to be hotting up again on the transfer front!!! As soon as any details are confirmed, this site will provide the latest details.
