Hammers Make Early Transfer Move
As Julen Lopetegui starts to mould his own West Ham United squad for the start of the 2024/25 Premier League season, the club confirmed earlier today that they have signed Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras for £25m on a five-year contract.
News of the 18-year-old’s potential move to East London first came about back on May 31 and despite a number of other top-flight clubs being interested, the Hammers moved quickly to secure their first signing of the summer.
With the transfer window opening on Friday, the winger will be the first new face to come through the door ahead of the new season in Stratford and he will join up with his new teammates for pre-season training in just eighteen days time. A medical was completed on Wednesday but a work permit still has to be issued.
Although he is still young, the club believe that he will go straight into the first team and he will find out which opponent his new club will be facing on the first day of the new season when the fixture list for the upcoming campaign is released on Tuesday.
With just over two months to go before teams are back in competitive action, news of further moves both in and out of East London will be confirmed by this site as soon as they are announced.
