Third Youngster Switches Clubs
It was only last Friday that goalkeeper KrisztiĆ”n Hegyi left West Ham United to secure a loan move for the forthcoming season and only a week on, another of the club’s youngsters has done likewise, as Freddie Potts has joined Sky Bet League One side Wycombe Wanderers.
Many in Stratford feel that it will be beneficial for Potts to gain first-team experience, especially as the 19-year-old midfielder only committed his future to the Irons on 14 July.
The son of Hammers’ legend Steve was hoping to be involved when the East Londoners meet newly-promoted Luton Town in September, as he possibly would have been coming up against his brother Dan but unfortunately, he won’t get that chance and will instead be heading for a spell with the Chairboys.
Whilst on loan in Buckinghamshire, he may well come up against fellow loanee Hegyi, if Head-Coach Matt Bloomfield includes him in the matchday squad for those particular encounters.
Potts becomes the third youngster to have made a temporary move out of Stratford this summer, as he joins Hegyi and Nathan Trott in switching clubs.
As we head into the final month before the summer transfer window closes, this site will keep its readers up to date with any further transfer news as soon as it is available.
