Draw Hands Out Brentford Tie
The draw for the third round of the FA Cup was made earlier tonight and West Ham United will kick off their campaign by facing fellow Premier League side Brentford at The Gtech Community Stadium with the tie being played over the weekend of Friday 6 to Monday 9 January.
The timing of this tie means that the two sides are due to meet twice in a number of days, as Thomas Frank’s Bees will travel to Stratford for a top-flight encounter on Friday 30th December.
The West London side are becoming all too familiar to David Moyes’ team, as they also met on three occasions last season. The Hammers won a pre-season friendly here before the Bees got their revenge by doing the league double over the Irons so Moyes will be keen to lead his team to a success this time around.
West Ham’s progress in this competition has been halted by Premier League sides in the last two years and they will be hoping not to suffer the same fate here.
