UEFA Europa Conference League Play-off details confirmed

West Ham United will contest European football again for the upcoming 2022/23 season but instead of the UEFA Europa League, it will be the UEFA Europa Conference League they will compete in. They will also have to qualify for the group stages.

The Hammers now know who they will face over a two-legged tie starting in Stratford on 18 August with the second-leg to place a week later.

David Moyes’ side will take on either Viborg FF of Denmark or B36 Tórshavn of the Faroe Islands.

The Irons have previous experience of trying to qualify for European competition, as they came up against the same hurdle in both 2015/16 and again in 2016/17 but failed on both occasions.

Given their experience in the UEFA Europa League last season, the club are desperate for more nights under the lights and will hope to go one better than being knocked out at the semi-final stage.

If the East Londoners do progress through to the group stage, then the draw will be made on August 26.
