Masuaku Ends Long Stint With Hammers

After seeing Ajibola Alese leave this summer it has been confirmed today that midfielder Arthur Masuaku has left West Ham United to join Turkish Süper Lig club Beşiktaş on an initial season-long loan deal with the option to make the move permanent, should he impress.

The Democratic Republic of Congo player has been with the Hammers since the 2016/17 having signed from Olympiacos by former manager Slaven Bilić as defensive cover but was converted by current manager David Moyes during his first spell in 2018 to more of a midfield where he thrived.

However, since suffering a knee injury during the 2020/21 season, his opportunities have been few and far between and he will now move on in order to take up a new challenge.

This move was little out of the blue much like the signings of both Flynn Downes and Gianluca Scamacca.

News of further moves both in and out of Stratford will be confirmed by the site as soon as they are announced.
