Hammers Confirm Another Signing

After securing the capture of youngster Josh Briggs last Thursday, West Ham United have tonight seen another new face come through the arrivals door in Stratford, as Lucas Paquetá has become the club’s tenth summer signing having arrived from French Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais on a five-year deal with an option for a further twelve months.

The possibility to sign Paquetá came about earlier this month and with the transfer window finally closing at 11pm on Thursday, David Moyes has moved quickly to get a man he admires.

When asked whether he will be looking at any more signings in his pre-match news conference ahead of the game against Aston Villa, the Scotsman stated that he wasn’t sure.

Paquetá could make his debut in the “big” London derby at home to Tottenham Hotspur if Moyes decides that he is fit enough and ready for the challenge of the Premier League having only passed his medical late on Sunday night.

Who knows whether the Hammers have finished their transfer business? If any more deals are confirmed between now and Thursday, this site will have confirmation as soon as it is available.
