Hammers Finally Land Striker

With the summer transfer window due to close at the start of September, West Ham United have ended their long search for a striker as they have signed Italian international Gianluca Scamacca from Sassuolo.

The 23-year-old becomes the club’s fifth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Nayef Aguerd, Alphonse Areola, Flynn Downes and youngster Patrick Kelly with the player signing a five-year deal with the option for a further year.

Once the Hammers had opened talks with Sassuolo over signing the striker, it seemed to take a long time for the move to be finalised but after personal terms were finally agreed on Monday, a medical was then completed and Scamacca will hope to make his debut when Manchester City arrive in Stratford for the opening game of the 2022/23 season on 7 August.

It doesn’t appear that West Ham’s transfer dealings are over just yet so, news of further deals both in and out of East London will be confirmed as soon as they are announced.
