Alese Heads to Sunderland

There has been a lot of movement this summer as far as incomings are concerned at West Ham United but today, one player has left Stratford as defender Ajibola Alese has joined Sky Bet Championship side Sunderland on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Alese was highly thought of in East London as he was involved in the first-team squad on a regular basis last season after loan spells at Hull City, Accrington Stanley and Cambridge United. He made his last appearance for the East Londoners in their 2-1 pre-season victory against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Tuesday.

As well as featuring in a number of matchday squads recently, he made his one and only competitive start in the club’s UEFA Europa League match at home to GNK Dinamo Zagreb last December.

More movement is expected both in and out of East London in the next couple of weeks so as soon as anything is announced, this site will provide details.
