Leeds United Match Preview

After West Ham United did a double of sorts over Leeds United by knocking them out of the FA Cup last weekend, they have the chance to clinch a third success of the season over Marcelo Bielsa’s men when the Hammers welcome the West Yorkshire club back to Stratford for a Premier League encounter this afternoon.

The home side will hope to follow up their 2-0 home victory against newly-promoted Norwich City four days ago with a third win in Stratford this week.

Bielsa’s side will be out for revenge after last weekend’s reverse in East London and will hope for a first ever win over West Ham. On the other hand, David Moyes will be keen to extend his unblemished record in charge of the East Londoners over today’s visitors.

The hosts will want to build on their success over the Canaries from Wednesday night, whilst the visiting team have had a full week to prepare for this game as they haven’t played since meeting the Irons here last Sunday.

Although Kurt Zouma has resumed full training with the squad, it is thought that he is a few weeks off a return so Issa Diop is likely to keep his place for a ninth consecutive top-flight match.

Aaron Cresswell returned to action for the first time since November against Dean Smith’s side and he is set to get another start under his belt here, while Pablo Fornals will again deputise for Tomáš Souček as he continues to recover from Coronavirus.

Mark Noble didn’t make the bench on Wednesday as he was out for the same reason, meaning Arthur Masuaku took the midfielder’s place amongst the substitutes. Alex Král might also play some part with Manuel Lanzini keeping his place.

The match kicks off at 2pm with live coverage being screened by Sky Sports from 1pm. The referee is Mike Dean.
