Leeds First up in FA Cup

The draw for the third round of the Emirates FA Cup was made earlier this week and West Ham United were handed a home tie against fellow Premier League club Leeds United. The tie will be played on Sunday 9 January with kick-off at 2:15pm and the tie has been selected for live television coverage to be screened by ITV.

In their run to the quarter-final stage of this season’s Carabao Cup, the Hammers have already faced two top-flight sides and come up against another in the shape of fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur on 22 December.

Now, they have already been drawn to face a fourth side from the same division in two different cup competitions this season.

David Moyes’ team reached the fifth round for the first time since the 2015/16 campaign last term but they were eventually knocked out by Manchester United at Old Trafford after extra-time.

The two clubs are due to meet again exactly a week later, as Marcelo Bielsa’s men make the same journey for a Premier League encounter.
