Hammers Finally Bolster Attacking Options

After confirming the signing of former Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma following Saturday’s 2-2 home draw in the London derby with Crystal Palace, West Ham United have today completed the signing of Croatian attacking midfielder Nikola Vlašić.

The 23-year-old arrives in East London after signing a five-year deal from Russian Premier League club CSKA Moscow for an undisclosed fee.

When the summer transfer window officially opened on June 9, the Hammers initially focused on signing young players to bolster their Development Squad but in the last couple of days, David Moyes has ramped up his pursuit of players.

Moyes has been on the lookout for attacking options for a while now but during the last window he opted to sign Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard on a loan deal for the rest of the 2020/21 season.

The player will certainly hope for a more successful spell in the top-flight of English football this time around, as Ronald Koeman signed him for Everton in August 2017.

Vlašić, along with Zouma will be in line for a debut when West Ham make the trip to St Mary’s to face Southampton in the club’s next Premier League outing on 11 September.
