Hammers Face Red Devils Double

The draw for the third round of the Carabao Cup was made on Wednesday night and West Ham United will face an all Premier League tie as they travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United.

Both teams will enter this year’s competition at this stage due to their European involvements.

David Moyes will certainly hope for his first win in Manchester since leaving in 2014 and will not be wanting his side to suffer the same fate as they did in the 2020/21 campaign when they lost to fellow top-flight outfit and another of the Scotsman’s former club’s Everton, after beating EFL sides Charlton Athletic and Hull City along the way.

With the tie set to be played during the week of September 20 and the two teams playing each other in a Premier League fixture on September 19, this match is likely to take place no earlier than September 21
