Fulham Match Preview
West Ham United’s last London derby against Tottenham Hotspur saw them grab a late draw when it seemed certain that they would be staring down the barrel at a third defeat in five games. They will be hoping that the visit of newly promoted Fulham for Saturday’s late kick-off will provide both a much-needed three points and a more straightforward outcome.
The Hammers are currently fourteenth in the table after a combination of the 2-1 reverse at Liverpool, coupled with the rest of last weekend’s results.
West Ham’s record against the newly-promoted teams last season wasn’t the best, as they only achieved the double over Champions Norwich City.
David Moyes’ side go into this game off the back of the defeat at Anfield but on the plus side, they have had more time to prepare than their visitors, as the Cottagers were last in action on Monday night.
Scott Parker’s team will be hoping to build on that success with three points here, while the Irons are looking to return to winning ways after not managing a victory since 4 October.
Although Sébastien Haller was ineffectual against the Reds last weekend, he may be handed another start with Michail Antonio continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury, while Saïd Benrahma could be in line for a full debut. Craig Dawson may make his first appearance in the matchday squad.
It is expected that Aaron Cresswell will retain his place despite picking up a knock in training.
It has been confirmed that Captain Mark Noble will miss out altogether after sustaining a rib injury during the week.
This match is a pay-per-view option and is available for £14.95 via BT Sport Box Office from 7:45pm with Kick-off at 8pm. The referee is Robert Jones.
